In the era of the digital revolution, artificial intelligence is no longer just a futuristic technology, but a reality that influences every professional sector as well as every aspect of society.

AI, and the change it can bring for the future, can become a highly valuable tool for increasing our capabilities. 

However, the effective use of AI requires professionals to develop new skills and strengthen existing ones, in order to promote an ethical and inclusive use of technologies.

This is what our Erasmus+ AI4YouthWork project aims to achieve: identify knowledge, skills and attitudes that professionals in the field of youth work (capable of guiding new generations to navigate the present and tomorrow) need to effectively employ intelligence artificial in their work and guide young people in the context of the AI ​​revolution.

Based on the results of international research conducted together with project partners TEAM4Excellence (T4E), CONTEXTOS and KEAN and on recognized European competence frameworks and models, we have developed the first AI Competence Framework for Youth Workers.

The framework provides, for the first time, a definition of the skills youth workers need to support young people to thrive in the age of artificial intelligence and leverage it to optimize their work.

The framework has been divided into six thematic areas: Professional Engagement, AI-Powered Resources, AI for Training and Learning, Assessment and Evaluation, Empowering Young People and Facilitating Young People's AI Competences. Each area includes a set of skills, which are in turn defined in proficiency levels and accompanied by examples of knowledge, attitudes and skills.
