USMED: Learning Experiences Catalogue completed, Tailored Learning Pathways coming soon
The USMED project (Upskilling Workers of SMEs with Low Digital Intensity) has reached one of its major milestones: the completion of the Learning Experiences Catalogue, a European catalogue of training resources dedicated to strengthening digital skills in the hospitality and food service sector.
Together with the consortium partners, we collected and developed more than 60 Open Educational Resources (OERs), designed to support workers, managers, and students in the sector through practical, interactive, and easily accessible content.
The catalogue was built through collaborative work across three main areas:
- 35 resources developed directly by the consortium: each partner created 5 modules focused on enhancing digital competences, covering topics such as data analysis, pricing management, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, online presence, and the use of digital tools useful for everyday activities in the tourism and hospitality sector.
- 15 resources selected from other Erasmus+ projects: through a research and analysis process, existing and highly effective content was identified, highlighting European best practices.
- 10 resources collected through an open call: European vocational education and training providers contributed by proposing innovative and high-quality materials, which were subsequently selected by the partnership.
All content was designed following a practical learning methodology, including exercises, simulations, and quizzes that allow users to immediately apply the skills acquired.
Tailored Learning Pathways Coming Soon
At the same time, the partnership is completing the development of the Tailored Learning Pathways, personalised training pathways built according to users’ initial level of digital competences.
Thanks to the Digital Skills Assessment Tool (DSAT), the self-assessment tool developed within the project, the following will be available:
- 2 beginner-level pathways
- 2 intermediate-level pathways
- 2 advanced-level pathways
Each pathway will include at least 10 selected training resources designed to respond to the concrete needs identified during the project’s research phase.
A Digital Platform for Training and Skills Certification
With the catalogue now completed and the pathways in the final stage of development, the project is currently working on the creation of its own digital infrastructure.
The future online learning platform will host all training resources and will enable training providers to issue Europass Digital Credentials, European digital certifications officially validating the skills acquired by users.
